The Mchanga pride travled underground for days, without eating anything. They started to suspect that Somari has gone crazy and is driving into the prides death demise. But Hisani and Moorea knew what was Somari doing. Hisani notices that her adoptive grandmother Mara has been coughing quite alot. Having her senses more developed than the others, she could sense that something is wrong with Mara... She told her father about it... They soon realize that Mara is diagnostied with a rare disease. Somari didnt say a word about it...
Mara is discussing with Hisani, Dhahabu and Shiro. but Somari didnt show up since he did not want to get even more hurt.
''My grandchildren, i feel that i dont have any more time left... I dont think i'll ever be able to arrive to Nekofelis...'' She says
''No, grandmother! It is not a filthy disease that will prevent you from finding that shit place! You always told me to be strong! Why cant you?!'' Complains Shiro.
''I am old now, Shiro. Alot of things happened in life... but i foccuse on all the good things in life... like having you all in my life... and Somari... Hisani... you may not have sight, but all your other senses are strong. That'll lead you to something good, one day. And Dhahabu. You have a heart of gold. You may look like your coldhearted father, but you are NOT him. You are very friendly and warmhearted lion. And Shiro... You are very strong, reckless, but still a good lion... remember that you dont have to be strong all time... Your mother would be very proud...''
Somari retains to cry, but still do it.
''And Somari... my son... my mate would be so proud of you... as much as i am. You have been so much through and survived all of this.... After everything that happened, you do deserve to live in Nekofelis... live a better life... But i think i will be better in heaven... with my love Shujaa.''
The old white lioness licks the tigers forehead. ''Now, let me rest for a bit... i am not going to die now... but it wont last...''
The pride rested for the sick lioness for the night. They slept.
In the morning, Hisani could sense death scent. She immediatly knew where it was from. Mara will never wake up again.
The pride mourned the elderly lioness that died a painless and peaceful death. All free from her weakened body of misery.
